Director, Medicinal Chemistry

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic guidance and expert knowledge of small molecule drug discovery
- Hypothesize, design and synthesize novel small molecules and contribute significantly to drive key drug discovery programs toward IND
- Optimize compounds to improve potency, selectivity, properties and DMPK to meet the desired target profiles
- Collaborate with pharmacology, translational science, ADME and toxicology to address specific program needs in order to progress compounds of interest
- Coach/mentor and lead other scientists; influence key stakeholders through technical reports and direct interactions
Key Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry or closely related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Expert knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and/or medicinal chemistry principles
- Experience leading projects/initiatives and coordinating & leading teams of scientists
- Adaptability and positive attitude in a fast paced environment
